Rose Briar Place:

Rose Briar Place in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma was the gorgeous setting for Chelsea & Kenyada’s dream wedding. The venue was exquisite in their service & the decor made the atmosphere elegant. From the rose linens, to the string lights on every tree, the ladies at Rose Briar Place know how to create a  wonderland of grace & beauty. As Chelsea admired her dress in front of three 8 foot designer mirrors, her bridesmaids raised a wine glass to toast their friend’s new journey of love. Chelsea & Kenyada held their ceremony outside in the beautiful outdoor chapel. Slightly hinted with rustic charm, everything from the white chairs, to the hanging lights drew their guests in the story of the Davis family. It was like something out of a storybook. Guests commented that they felt they were deep in a beautiful forest watching this story unfold.

Chelsea said one of the things that she has loved about Rose Briar Place the most & one of the things that alleviated a lot of stress for her was that they handled pretty much everything from venue, food, linens, etc. She thinks everything naturally fell into place at the right time.

The majestic indoor chapel held the couple’s rehearsal the night before & served as a backup in case of inclement weather. No matter where Chelsea & Kenyada said ‘I do’ at Rose Briar Place, everyone around them knew it was the perfect setting for their wedding day.

The Bride & Groom:

Chelsea & Kenyada are the perfect example of true love! They both arrived at Rose Briar Place excited for their future! You could see the love in Chelsea’s eyes as she prepared to become Mrs. Kenyada Davis! The couple has a history that puts most fairy tales to shame! Chelsea recalls:

“Kenyada and I met in college at Southwestern College in Winfield, KS in 2002. I was a Sophomore and he was SC Alumni that later came back to become a football coach. I was on my way to the track locker room, and we passed one another. He asked me out on a date! I politely turned him down! We now laugh when looking back at it, because he couldn’t have gotten into major trouble for hitting on a student!!!! 🙂 We kept in touch over the years through social media. When my daughter and I relocated to Oklahoma City, we re-connected, went out to lunch, and we have been together since then!!! It’s amazing how God brings people back into your life full circle!”

You could tell this day was a long time coming as both spent time with family & friends, anxiously counting down the minutes until they became husband & wife! Even though the couple elected to not see each other before the ceremony, we decided to have some fun with Chelsea & Kenyada by grabbing some shots of them almost seeing each other! Kenyada said this was torture but he loved the anticipation of seeing his love!

Chelsea recalls what made her realize this man was going to be her forever after:

“I truly admired the relationship he has with his son. I said to myself, ‘That is the kind of man I want in my life and as the potential father of my child.’ I also love the relationship he has developed with my daughter as well. He truly has accepted her as his own. He finally proposed on Christmas day in front of family and friends. I totally didn’t see it coming! In fact, I was soooo mad at him because everyone got a gift under the tree except for ME!! Boy was I in for a surprise. Kenyada said that everyone had their phones out recording the moment, however I was so mad that I completely overlooked it all! Our parents, siblings, friends, cousins, Aunts, Uncles and grandparents were there to witness the proposal. Afterward, his Aunt and Uncle spoke a very special prayer over us and our children. There wasn’t a dry eye in the room.”

The Reception:

Music & laughter filled the air at Rose Briar Place during Chelsea & Kenayada’s Reception as DJ Calvin Rice set the mood for the evening. As Chelsea & Kenyada danced their first dance as husband & wife, they were surrounded by a cloud of fog that drifted them away further into their fairytale. Guests were treated to a delicious feast of Fish & Roast as the servers from Rose Briar Place worked tirelessly. Friends chatted, pictures flashed, & memories were made! Chelsea was surrounded by her Sorority Sisters as they sang her a song of love & blessing sending her into this new phase of life. Kenyada stole Chelsea away at one point to capture some impromptu alone pictures, all the while holding his new bride. The couple shared a cigar to commemorate their new life together. Ending their evening in a parade of bubbles, Chelsea & Kenyada’s day may be over, but their story & journey is just beginning. They are no longer two separate families, but now one.
