Natalee & Chris:
Natalee & Chris met in Nursing school while Chris was organizing a co-ed football team! Having played before, Natalee decided to sign up, if nothing more than to spend time with Chris). Before long, the two were swimming laps together at the College’s swimming & recreation center & finally started talking! Natalee explains, “I knew he was the one almost immediately when we were starting to get to know each other! There wasn’t anything in particular that he did, I just loved how passionate he was about everything he did! I loved how he was so outgoing, joyful, &ย also the hardest worker I knew! He was so smart, but also very wise! He was so fun &ย he never failed to make me laugh!” Chris tells a different tale, “I knew she was the one when she came down to Texas to support my family & me when my mom was in the hospital. Despite what she was dealing with, like classes &ย schoolwork, she stayed longer than she had expected. It became evident quickly that God wanted her there with my family myself.”
The Proposal:
“We had been dating for almost two years. One of our most favorite things to do is to go to the University of Oklahoma Soonersย football games. His dad has season tickets so we never miss a game! We even drove 21 hours straight to Miami, Florida for the 2015 Orange Bowl Game! On November 11, 2016 we were headed to the OU-Baylor game. His dad &ย sister came up from Texas. My family came from Tulsa, supposedly because my dad went to Baylor &ย had always wanted to go to a Baylor game. My mom &ย sister had told us all to look nice because we were going to be taking family pictures on the beautiful campus after the game. So of course, OU wins the football game! After the game, we all meet outside the stadium to take family pictures. Afterwards, we were walking back towards our cars &ย everyone starts getting ahead of my now fiancรฉe & myself. We walk upon this little water fountain, &ย Chris starts talking to me about how he’s so glad I came into his life at the time that I did. It was a very rough time for his family because his mom had gotten sick.ย She was not getting better, &ย right before we started officially dating she passed away. He told me how he wanted to spend the rest of our lives together. He ย got down on one knee &ย pulled out this box that had been in his pocket the whole time! Inside it was the most beautiful diamond ring with a sapphire on each side! He opened it &ย asked if I would marry him! I said yes of course!ย His dad then yelled out “That’s a yes, right?” I turned &ย there was a ton of our family &ย friends who had driven from all over to see the proposal.”
