Wyatt & Taylor:

Romeo & Juliet, Lancelot & Guinevere, Cleopatra & Mark Antony. These are some of the most historic love stories ever! Well, we need to add to that list…Wyatt & Taylor! Living most of their relationship apart, Wyatt & Taylor treasured every second they have! Wyatt is serving our great country in the Marines so he is all over, leaving Taylor to pray & plan their wedding in his absence, but the love these two have for God & each other is inspiring! We had so much fun capturing their engagement session in Downtown Tulsa, OK.

We asked Taylor how they met & how they started dating, & she gives us a story that proves Wyatt had a plan all along! 😉

Taylor: “We had briefly met several years ago, then reconnected on FB in May (Wyatt says, “it was the last day of April…”). I just remembered he’d wanted to be a Marine so I was super impressed. Naturally, I asked about boot camp & he purposely drug out telling me until he could “tell me in person!” Thus securing our first date 3 months later.”

So Wyatt, how did you “know” that Taylor was “the One?” “I knew she was the one when we came to our first big point of contention. She had left her career field & was seeking a new one. She spent that whole summer applying, interviewing, etc. The summer was almost over & she said that if she didn’t have a job within the next two weeks she was going to go to the Air Force. There wasn’t much chance of us being stationed near each other if she did go, & I felt like she was better suited for a different calling in life… however, I couldn’t argue with her need for a steady job & the airforce was hiring… I was upset & only knew one thing I could do: pray. I called her & we prayed about it together that night & every night until she got her current job (not the airforce). We haven’t missed a night of prayer since, & I knew that not just any woman could make me so upset about potential future plans!”

Wow! Taylor when did you know? “I knew how much it bothered him that the AirForce was my backup plan, BUT he didn’t try to stop me. That really stood out to me. We’d only been even talking for two months, but he already understood that it had to be my decision. We hung up for about 30 minutes so I could walk. When we got back on the phone, he immediately said we need to pray. That’s when I knew. You see in that impasse & the 8 months before that led to me my career change, I’d been praying about a Godly man. I’d prayed for that specifically for 6 months before Wyatt & he’d literally begun to embody that man that day. Little did I know until a while later that 7 days before we connected on Facebook he’d been praying for a Godly woman. He said his week of praying answered my 6 months of prayer… but that day that he’d insisted we pray everyday together… that was the second I knew he was it.”

The Proposal:

So Taylor, you have to tell us how he proposed! Did he have a plan? Did you see it coming!? “So, I was pretty sure it was a puppy! I was so far from tracking what was happening that I thwarted every attempt he made! “Do you want to go hiking?” “No, it’s freaking cold.” / “Ah, cool you have a Christmas stocking ….” “ya it’s just a decoration… I never look in it.” / “Let’s take some family photos…” / “My family is kinda all over the place… not really a good time…”

He had back up plan after backup plan & I had no clue. On Christmas night… after I’d destroyed every plan… he started acting weird (so I’m like PUPPY!!!) but I didn’t hear anything so I’m thinking he’s just overwhelmed seeing everyone since it’d been a while since he’d been home for Christmas. So suddenly I get ready to pray (every night no exception) & when we finished then he says, “I really like that we do that” “Me too. Good night.” “No, no, no. I mean I really think it’s good… we should always do that.” “Ya. Goodnight.” “Always… forever.” “Yes… always… we should pray forever. Goodnight.” Then he got the ring & sits down next to me. At that point he didn’t say anything… because I clearly wasn’t tracking. Then I opened the box & began to cry… my first thought was “if this is earings I’m gonna punch him…” Best part… everyone knew but me. They all knew!!” 🤣😍
