The OSU Botanical Gardens in Stillwater, OKย is a breath of fresh air. Filled with beautiful trees, plants, flowers, as well as herbs, the gardens are a retreat for students & wildlife alike. Whether you are looking for a quiet place to study, a peaceful track to ย exercise or walk your dog, or simply a little piece of nature heaven, the OSU Botanical gardens areย sure to please.
Many of the gardens are designed & kept by students of OSU & serves as a community service project. For Kathryn & Braeden who are both student of OSU, the gardens were the obvious choice for their beautiful engagement photos.
Kathryn & Braeden:
Kathryn & Braeden are the kind of couple every couple strives to be. Their chemistry as well asย their love for each other is infectious. From the moment they met, they knew God had a plan for them. Kathryn recalls,ย “Braeden & I met at a Halloween gathering, which is why we claim Halloween as our dating anniversary. We both have loved the holiday since we were kids, so it’s only fitting that we met on our favorite holiday! Upon meeting &ย first talking, Braeden told me that he loved to run. Not wanting him to think I was uninterested, I claimed to be a runner as well. We set a date to run around the local lake. It did not go well for me, as predicted, but instead we spent three hours talking &ย laughing.”
Knowing this couple’s story tells you they are destined for greatness. They both claim they knew right away they were each other’s destiny: “Braeden was the first man ever to ring my doorbell &ย bring me flowers for our first date. He was so old fashioned, which really spoke to my heart. He took the time to pay attention to little details, write out love notes, &ย take me to my favorite places. I knew he was the one the night we met, but solidified that thought on our first “date” run around the lake.”
The Proposal:
“I definitely saw the proposal coming, but don’t tell him that. (Or at least he won’t know until he reads this blog post!) We had gone to pick out rings a month after we started dating. He flew me to Hawaii for spring break &ย to ‘maybe”‘propose. He stuck the ring in his pocket on the last night there, which really irritated me! I thought he was being irresponsible with the ring (because I didn’t know he was proposing that night!) so I called my mom to complain about it. I was mad the whole time! We walked out to a secluded beach with white sand &ย a beautiful sunset. He got down on one knee in a grassy alcove &ย asked a simple question, “Kathryn, will you marry me?” I was surprised, but also very excited.”
Kathryn & Braeden wanted to capture fall pictures as the leaves were turning to celebrate when they met. They brought their children, (Bo & Moose), to join in the fun. You can see the joy in their faces in each portrait.
Stay tuned for their winter wonderland wedding coming in January 2017 at the gorgeous Manor at Coffee Creek.
