Dallas Arboretum & Botanical Gardens:

In the midst of the hustle & the bustle that is Dallas Texas, there sits a beautiful oasis that is the Dallas Arboretum & Botanical Gardens. Dedicated to not only nature, but education as well as beauty, the botanical gardens spans over 66 acres of lush wonder. Dedicated to science & nature, there are hundreds of specimens of trees, flowers, & animals. There is literally too much to see in one visit! There website explains, “The mission of the Dallas Arboretum & Botanical Garden is to build & maintain a public venue that promotes the art, enjoyment & knowledge of horticulture, while providing opportunities for education and research.”

Kaitlyn & Dillon:

Kaitlyn & Dillon met at Texas A&M University through the dive club!Kaitlyn was an officer at the club & Dillon was just getting into diving! Dillon recalls, “I knew Kaitlyn was special when we had the opportunity to really get to know each other in Mexico when we were both taking a class called Tropical Marine Ecology. After the class we kept in touch & things grew from there. It was soon after we started dating that I knew she was the one for me.”

It’s easy to see why these two are so in love. Kaitlyn can’t help but laugh at Dillon’s sense of humor & Dillon’s eyes lit up every time he looked at his future Bride. The couple walked around the gardens on their own little adventure.

The Proposal:

Dillon proposed to Kaitlyn at 1200 am on Valentine’s day. He explains, “I had to work on Valentine’s day so we decided to spend the 13th as our official holiday. I had to convince her to stay up until midnight that night to go on a walk around her neighborhood so we could actually have done something on Valentine’s day. We began walking to a large gazebo where we would sit & look at the water it was built on. As we get to it we see that the sprinklers surrounding it were on & they were spraying all over the sidewalks! So I quickly diverted her to a smaller gazebo that was nearby. We sat down at the swinging bench that was in the gazebo & relaxed for a little bit. As I went to reach for the ring that was in my jacket’s right pocket I realize that I cant use my right hand to grab it because Kekoa, our husky, was pulling his leash tight against my right wrist. I then begin to attempt to pull the ring out of my pocket with my left hand. Kaitlyn looks at me like I’m going crazy. Finally, after what felt like a couple of minutes of trying to fumble for the ring I finally fish it out & then got down on one knee and asked her to be in my life forever.”
